Recipes

We have all heard about the wonderful Monkey Munch that Kate makes for the kids. And remember when Kate said something about people who use recipes aren't real cooks? Well, I'm not saying anything about Kate who actually used a recipe for her Monkey Munch, oops! Now finally, Kate is giving out some of her delicious recipes. If anyone tries this one, please let us know how it turns out, just make sure you follow the recipe closely, it's a toughie.

PB & APPLE
2 slices whole-wheat white bread or oatmeal bread
Peanut butter 1/2 apple, thinly sliced and drizzled with a tiny amount of lemon juice
Spread each slice of bread with peanut butter. Place thin apple slices on one slice. Close sandwich and cut into triangles.

Yum, yum!!!!!!!!!

I just found this on a Michigan news page. So I guess Kate is getting even bigger in the food world. Yes, this page allows comments.

Kate Gosselin's Brown Bag Tips
Web Editor: Denise Pritchard 10 days ago

Variety is the slice of life. We all may love tuna on white bread, but why not spice up your lunch-life and try a new variety of bread? Perhaps peanut butter on toasted cinnamon raison bread or turkey and cheese on 7-grain bread? Try a new type of bread every day of the week!
Toast it! Nothing is better than a toasted sandwich ? the crunch, the melted cheese. Delicious! Just because you are packing your lunch doesn't mean you need to miss out on life's little pleasures. For those working moms and dads, most office kitchens or lunch rooms have a toaster oven ? put it to good use and make your very own homemade panini. Everyone will have lunch envy, we promise!
Made with Love. Packing a healthy delicious lunch for your kids is another way to show you love them. Not only do you care about what they are eating ? this is a perfect opportunity to show you're thinking of them, even when you can't be with them. Include a note in the lunch bag or scribble words of inspiration on a napkin. And if you want to get really creative, use cookie cutters to transform your child's sandwich into a work of art ? or even into their initials. These little surprises are sure to bring a smile to their face.
BYOS ? Bring your own sandwich and SHARE! This is part potluck, part tea party. Gather your buddies at work and one day a week everyone brings in their favorite sandwich. The catch (and the fun) is ? everyone will cut their sandwiches into tiny squares, the modern day cucumber sandwich, and share! Even better the second time. There's no better way to save on time and money than with leftovers. When cleaning up after dinner, instead of putting the leftovers into storage containers or even the trash (gasp!), take out the bread and sandwich bags and get to work. That leftover chicken and veggies will make a delish wrap.
Tick Tack Dough. Mix up the bread in their sandwiches, using 1 slice whole wheat and 1 slice enriched white and then after cutting the sandwiches into quarters, flip two of the quarters over to make a checkerboard. It is a great way to start introducing kids to whole grain bread. Kids love fun-looking food, even if it's good for them!
It's ok to judge a BAG by its cover. Most women love to show off a new handbag ? why should your lunch bag be any different? There are a host of insulated, environmentally friendly options in fashion-friendly colors and designs. Sticking to the traditional brown bag? Have the kids add ribbons, name tags or their own drawings and packing a healthy, tasty and creative lunch will become a family tradition.

Did she also share her recipe for 3 or 4 tostito chips for lunch? I gotta get me that recipe!

I wanted to try it, but I'm not that good of a cook.

I can't handle it.
Is there any way that we could get the recipe with photos, so that it would be easier to follow?
Also, I'd like her recipe for pretzels on the kids' plate.

Well at least the kids are getting some protein with the peanut butter. They go through a loaf of bread and 2 boxes of cereal a day. I'm thinking dry cereal, Kate won't buy milk unless it's on sale. You know, there's nothing like dry shredded wheat in the morning!

I really messed this recipe up, I didn't cut it in triangles.
I cut it in squares, EUREKA! a new recipe, I should post it somewhere.

Food for thought. I read the recipes and I now see that Kate is a GR8AT cook. Supermom, hero, expert, amazing, just a few words to describe Kate! LMAO

Hi, I'm wondering where you got the picture for your blog banner?

Hi Angela,
We use many pictures on our blog, we get them from different people, some friends send us pictures that they have photoshopped with their pictures, some are found by internet searches and then photoshopped. Some are from articles such as the National Enquirer. I'm not sure where all pictures we use are from since we have a few different contributors.

If you want to learn about something, ask an expert.

Really, how could anyone consider Kate an expert on anything besides knowing how to take advantage of others good deeds? Really?

And what makes Kate an expert on school lunches? She has 2 kids in school and then for only a few years. Ask a mom who has raised 4 kids and has made lunches for years. WTF?

I checked out the site that has Kate's wonderful recipes too, on

For all those women that are moms with negative comments…shame on you.

Let me say this...
I say shame on ANY mom who thinks that Kate Gosselin is a great mom. For sure they can't think she is a great wife.

Funny thing is, I checked out the breads that the Grains for Life, that hired Kate to give them recipes, and I could not find any ORGANIC bread that they make. So it's ok for us, but not for her.

I hear that Kate is writing two more books, maybe they are cookbooks full of such helpful recipes as peanut butter sandwiches on whole grain bread (all organic of course). Maybe she is trying to get herself a cooking show on Food network, for when the show with the kids get canned because of so many complaints to TLC. You know she will need another source of income since she is so poor, it will be called Cooking with Jon and Kate...she will sit there having a pedicure while she tell Jon how to "cook". That will be entertaining!

Ya really...she has made how many school lunches? What an expert!
I have been making school lunches for 19 years. (my 3 kids are spaced out...and I still make my 15 year old's lunch...spoiled I know)
I find it offensive to have a "recipe" for sandwiches, I mean seriously?

Ha Ha Ha! Come on, you know if we aren't told to spread the peanut butter on the bread, we wouldn't know what to do with it.

and lets not forget this recipe:

Spread condiment on one slice bread of your choice

Open mouth

Insert foot

Damage control is seeming more and more like digging one's own grave.....................

Damn, that woman is amazing!

Kate knows about bread, they are rolling in the dough.

I have a question about decorating the brown lunch bags.
How can I decorate my bag if I am not allowed to use any markers?
Thanks,

To be honest, Kate seems like such a shrew but I love everything she cooks up.
