Sponsorship, in poor taste?

I was watching an Entertainment show and they were discussing the swag backstage this year at the Critics Choice awards. It was mentioned that this year, the bags were really "lean" compared to years past. Companies can't donate what they used to because of the economy. I think this is going to be a huge effect on Jon and Kate. The move to North Carolina fell through because the sponsors fell through and I think more and more sponsors are going to be unwilling to sponsor as they have in the past.
While families are losing their jobs and fighting to keep food on the table, I seriously doubt anyone is going to be sponsoring any 5 star vacations for this family in the near future. It would be in very poor taste.

Microsoft
P&G
K-Mart
Gap
Gymboree
Juicy Juice
Crocs

I seem to do very well without any of these products . . . except for Microsoft (curses Mr. Gates!).

I don't see any stop on this gravy train of gluttony. Kate will milk her little cows for the last penny. Her 15 minutes should have been up after their 2nd "documentary" but she just keeps on showing up in every magazine and every talk show. Nobody in the mainstream media seems to investigate because all they hear is "TLC'S Number One Show."
Yeah, well some kid just killed himself over the internet while many watched. Some want to broadcast executions because they know it would get high ratings.
Top Ratings doesn't mean Top Quality.

The sooner this show ends, the better for the kids. I have a question, you mention that the NC move fell through because the sponsors backed out. Do you have any more information about that? I never heard what happened there, I just figured they decided to stay in PA.

Libby,
Jon told a "relative" that the land was purchased and had blue prints of the house. He said the sponsors were in place and the deal was just about set. Due to the economy, the sponsors fell through. Sponsors include building supplies, contractors, architectures and so much more. To put this deal together, it takes a lot of marketing and wheeling and dealing. Times are tough and companies are not willing to give these things away so freely.
Those days are long gone. I doubt this family will be given as much as they have received in the past. In my opinion, it's about time!
If you watch the episode in which they tell the kids they're moving. Mady asks "are we really moving this time?" Clearly, a move was mentioned to them prior to this last move to their "forever" house.
The house has already dropped in value substantially so it might just well be their "forever" house.

The house they moved to came up for sale at the right time and they decided to buy it. I have no facts as to who paid for it, whether it was Jon and Kate Gosselin or if TLC contributed but it is listed as being sold to a "trust".

Hope this helps in answering your question. Thanks for visiting!
