OK, this is going to sting a little bit for me.....because I am not a Kate supporter. All I get from this is Jon was not showing a united front with the kids. She didn't yell or curse, she didn't belittle either. No bedtime TV means no bedtime TV. Husband agreed and then failed to follow thru. I don't think this is a good example of "bad Kate". This is an example of trying not to allow the kids to have an inch to play one against the other, which anyone who has kids knows they can smell a weak link a mile away. And with 8 of them? Woah. So while I continue not to watch the show and absolutely do not like Kate, I don't think this is bad. (still, that stings to say)

It's as if she is a mother scolding a teenage boy. "If you don't comply, I will remove ALL the televisions".

I have to agree with the first comment. They need to show a united front but at the same time I don't think the way she approached him about this was very nice. The thing I got from this was Kate had to deal with a child who had a nightmare (I'm sure every parent has had to do this, my mama did) and it took away from her precious me time so she wanted someone to blame for that. I don't have children so I guess I am at a bit of a disadvantage but is it normal now for a child to fall asleep watching tv? I never had a tv in my room when I was growing up, the lights were turned out and you went to sleep. Even now as an adult I can't go to sleep with the tv on because I want to stay awake and watch it.
If the tv is really the cause of Leah's nightmares there are 2 things that can be done to take care of the problem.
1. Kate can help Jon get the kids ready for bed. That way he wouldn't need an elctronic babysitter.
2. Remove the tvs from the bedrooms.
In this video Kate says that the twins only watched tv at naptime and we've seen Kate put a video on for the tups naptime too. How are kids supposed to learn to go to sleep on their own if they have the tv on, regardless of whether it's naptime or bedtime. I guess if it makes Kate's life more convenient then it's okay.
While I argee with the first poster about presenting a united front, I would never speak to my husband like he was another of the children, no matter how angry I was at him. If I was Jon I'd stand there and clap my hands right back in her face.
I'm suspicious of this whole video anyway. What the heck was the film crew doing there while the kids were sleeping? J&K weren't doing the couch interviews since he was obviously in the middle of a project with the door. Maybe the kids are waking up cause there's a six person film crew stomping around the house! I wouldn't be surprised if this whole thing was staged just to stir up more controversy.
I have seen Kate turn on the tv in the tups room, they watched "Mommy and Daddy" I have also seen Carla and Ashley do it while they were babysitting. Actually I think that epi is one right now - when they had their teeth whitened. And, what was the crew doing there after the kids are in bed is right.
i find it extremely amusing that you spent YOUR time bashing people you don't even know. you have some major issues and i suggest you get some sort of help. you won't publish this but at least you'll have to read it
